I meant Diana, but I’m not saying they’re doing it successfully. The intent is obvious to me. Sweet, naive Diana being neglected and isolated by the Royals even as she tries and fails to connect with them. Basically, the ingredients for viewer sympathy, yet nothing nuanced about the cardboard cutout character.

I have

Everyone’s a POS in that show. The one sympathetic character is such an obvious ploy by the show to butter her up before the inevitable tragedy porn that the viewers are waiting for.

From the joke to the outrage, everything about this is dumb. Someday, I’ll be bored and watch this on digital and when that scene comes up, I’ll chuckle and remember all the hubub that the joke created and how people just want to be offended for the sake of it. Signed, an Asian guy.

This week’s episode was directed by the Robert Rodriguez of Sin City and Planet Terror fame (or Spy Kids and Alita: Battle Angel, if you’re a bit younger than I am).”

1. This is a popular tv show that’s been on for 8 seasons?
2. There are too many tv shows.

A $9.7 million opening weekend these days feels like the equivalent of a $97 million opening in normal times.

I will forever love Batman Returns. Burton does well with snowy (and lonely) Christmas settings.

Oh, damn, I didn’t catch that. Thanks.

I do remember thinking that I used to enjoy these kinds of movies in the 90's, but that I still hated this new one. It probably says something about how our film preferences has evolved and that the studio doesn’t see it that way.

Ron Howard film style is so very much the opposite of a weird and eccentric movie, that this movie was destined to be bad. He tried too hard. One wonders if giving this to Tim Burton may have worked (say what you want about his current output, but younger Tim knew how to put some heart into weird) and maybe even save

Oh, that’s what it was. I read something recently about Will Smith being the 2020 accidental box office king and for the life of me I couldn’t remember what the film was.

Pretty sure it’s the same thing. They often showcase long series from other podcasts.

That’s probably what happened because I don’t subscribe to a lot of podcast, but SJ is one of them. I remember him mentioning stitcher on the SJ podcast.

Before reading the article, I assumed that Manson was booted out due to an act of conscience by the director regarding Manson’s record of abuse against ERW. Anyone who has seen her testimony about that relationship would be mortified and disgusted to work with him.

Came here to mention this. The podcast is Snap Judgment and it does a great job at humanizing those involved, within the cult and their families affected by it.

When I saw this article post, I thought I didn’t need to watch the series because I felt that I knew enough about the story to no longer be curious about the

That’s a good point. I didn’t mean to demean the whole thing. I think it’s great and my daughter enjoys it (she’s a 10 year old guitarist). Dave being Dave and having a teacher mom makes him the perfect rock god to be contacted by Nandi.

I honestly thought Odis’ OCD issues (particularly his delays with opening doors) would have a story pay off because it was highlighted so many times in the series.

I love this whole thing and have been following the story. Props to Dave Grohl for graciously doing this, but I have to wonder if he’s asking himself when this will end because it keeps going and going and I imagine the guy has a ton of things to do.

I’m happy to say that I assumed wrong about him. Eric Idle and Palin are still the good guys. I thought that he became another angry celebrity Brexiter, but he’s the complete opposite.

So, are just going to ignore the questionable judgement of the parents from both sides for bringing their kids to trial, fully knowing that there would be some very explicit and graphic details discussed?

Also, maybe it’s the dad in me, but I found it troubling that the defense lawyer instantly whipped out the bloody
