I wish people wouldn’t look at gaming as teams. It’s hella disappointing to know that if the world went full cyberpunk corporate dystopia that actually people would be more on board for it than we like to imagine.

I will say it wouldn’t have worked if they didn’t also have a killer price point, actually great exclusives in the pipeline (Gears1 hype was ferocious), and really good hardware. It wasn’t just releasing early, Microsoft had the goods and had a really plan in front of themselves.
Except your analogy falls apart because thats not how people recall that generation, people would have very different memories about a seven year long super bowl game. Most people remember how most games released on both platforms ran much better on Xbox, the PSN outages (and just poor funcitonality), and things like S…
Come on man, why do you have to choose to be this lousy and disingenious? Like what is the goal here?
For anyone else reading this: the 360 lead most of the generation, PS3 only caught up and overtook in sales 6 months before the PS4 and XboxOne released. So Microsoft commanded a 7 year lead over Sony in the 7th gen…
Really hope that DLC someday has a bigger than 30% discount. It just costs a little too much for me to consider with my backlog the way it is.
I guess never buying things at full price is an advantage I have. But also again without FNV baggage, it wouldn’t matter to me if they marketed it as such or not. I just got to treat it as its own thing. I don’t even have strong memories of Fallout 3 (played tenish hours), and didn’t play any of 4.
I really loved the original. I have wanted to play the DLC for a long time but it seems to only ever get to a 30% discount, and for a four and a half year old game I need that to be cheaper. I was hopeful about this upgrade but not being able to transfer the save is just an immediate non purchase. I would rather play…
Meanwhile as someone who wasn’t carrying around the baggage of FNV I enjoyed it a lot. The size of it was refreshing for an RPGlike game. And while the plot was a little rote, the characters and world building carried it quite wonderfully.
I’m gonna say that I simply don’t believe them. If it comes out in a few years that the SE leadership were involved in money laundering hijinx or some such I would not be surprised. The fact that almost every game releases to disappointing sales numbers despite being chart toppers, or having one of the most successful…
I don’t disagree with these comments at all. It didn’t really bother me, but these all seem valid. Sigh, I really want to rewatch all of Naruto but the problem is I don’t have time to focus up and watch it as the main thing, I need to do it while doing other things which means I would need to switch to dub, and I’m…
The Game Pass rotation. haha. I’m in a similar boat with Bioshock 2 mixed in there.
To be clear I think at the upper echelons of the music industry where things are still heavily gate kept by taste makers and those with clout and finance, I don’t think its as rosy for them as the heydays of MTV. But for literally everyone else in the industry (especially those previously locked out) its been an…
I don’t know if this is obvious or not. I also am having trouble with him. But you can hold down block and then parry just the red attacks while holding block down.
To me all of this parralels the music industry. Garageband, drum machines, digital orchestras etc None of these things replaced the professionals. What it did was lower the floor to entry, so now you had millions more people filling into the industry that just wouldn’t have before. For all the doom and gloom that…
Oh I guess I just took it as them using a slightly different style, which they had done in the past. But watching it the first time I was probably too overcome with emotion to really pay it any mind.
Which fight was this?
Regarding artists it isn’t just about a paycheck, it’s about having a fulfilling role that contributes to society.
It looks like shit if you bother looking at any of the details
But they didn’t slide by it, they presented it front and center, with no caveats, it is something that needs to be addressed. Your comment is actually the exact sort of critique being levelled at the article. It’s so incensed that you’re creating meaning that fuels your outrage.
This is a narrow view. An artist who wanted to could easily use this tool to train AI on their own art, and use that to inform the style.
