Wow, such jaded. They just showed that a quarter of their studios have games coming out in the first half of this year alone. That’s pretty good going.

What you’ve described is exactly what they did. There is an interview (with IGN I think) where they explain this, I couldnt be arsed to find it at the moment though.

Yep. More specifically Don Mattrick did, gamer’s everywhere continue to pay for that man’s trangressions. Although I will say this all kind of started with COD, and the deal was more complicated than just paying for DLC to cut out Sony. Activision wanted a piece of the Xbox Live subscription pie (Sony at the time

Modders will get PC gamers over the line.

To be honest even though I want this acquisition to go through, I am in general against all this consolidation, so I’m glad the FCC is looking into this, and if they rule against Microsoft thats fair game. The real travesty here is that they have decided to have this whole big focus on videogames while ignoring much

They didn’t really cite it so much as copy pasta it from Sony’s complaint. It ignores that they didn’t do it with their most successful title... Minecraft. And not only do they continue to keep development parity on all platforms, they have even shipped spin-off games in the brand to the other consoles. Not every game

Pretty sure they’re just going to put the mobile version on Switch. Giving Switch players a huge advantage over the touch input phone gamers.

Personally one of the things I just cannot understand, people say the shooting feels fun and satisfying, and I couldn’t disagree more. It feels just like Halo (of course) which means the guns have barely any feeling or sensation, like I am shooting water pistols. And since 90% of the game is shooting... well. For

I think the idea is that the motherhood part maybe points to tiredness or fatigue and still having to push through and “get the job done”. More plausible than someone getting that far in this kind of work while also being a moron.

Although initially I felt this way too, this post did give me some perspective: https://jalopnik.com/1850027692

Wow, this is all really disappointing. Honestly if you’re going to release a game that is supposed to have content drops as you go. At the very least on launch date they need to have completed the next content drop already finished. If you’re building the track as the train is running you are destined for failure.

If I could gently push back on this. Bungie wanted to become an independant studio long before they stopped working on Halo. And ultimately with independance they were the ones who didn’t want to work on Halo. This is also long before Phil was leading as well.

Similarly Epic sold off Gears because the production costs

As someone who has never spent $70B of a trillion dollar company’s money, I think answering that kind of question is out of my understanding. What I will say is, while I don’t think Microsoft or Xbox are infallable, I do think that in order to make that offer there is some pretty high level bean counting that has to

I’m talking about this generation, dude. Not last-gen, this gen.

Which ones stood out to you as the most egregious? Watching the video I only thought one of them looked to really far away from context. The rest seemed to be inline with the intended meaning.

Some of the knowledge you are looking for is contained in this article.

And if you did watch the video you would find the premise to be very thin and that most of the single word pulls made the kind of meaning you think they would in context.

After watching the guys TikTok about it, to be honest I think only one of those single word pulls seemed out of place. The rest did seem to capture the sentiment being expressed in the paragraph the word was pulled from. So this feels like much ado about nothing.

I think the reason I found it easier to sympathise with Joel is because I didn’t think killing the Fireflys was Joel’s only option. The ending was one where I definitely didn’t agree with what I was forced to do to progress the story.

But I agree that from the perspectives of characters within the game, who is good or

I think that is just down to Disney/Marvel acknowledging how good Sony’s bigger studios are, and how good Insomniac are. Spider-Man was likely very lucrative for everyone, but more than that it was loads of more good press for the character as well as it almost certainly driving more merch sales. So it is just a
