Audience may have given this a chance had it been cast with two lesser known actors. It's the pre-existing expectations that people had with Cruise and Diaz that provoked so many eye-rolls when the trailers were released.

Some friends of mine did this for a kid in Phoenix, too. Awesome that this is happening… anywhere!
