A lot of new ones finally do. The last Cessna 150 was produced in the late 70's, however. Aviation is very slow to adapt new technology due to a long expensive FAA certification process, liability costs, and very limited economy of scale. (As opposed to cars, anyway). Cirrus Aircraft, which I believe is producing the

I did not know that. (Johnny Carson)

3400 hour Flight Instructor, here...One hell of a job in my opinion. Bear in mind that this guy is a student pilot, and he only has about 2,000 feet of altitude. Not really much time to pull out a written check list, when you are low, task saturated, and gliding. His primary job is to “fly the airplane”, and maintain

My ground school instructor way back in high school (early 80's) was a former Marine fixed wing pilot who made his living crop-dusting. As part of emergency instructions he pointed out that we should always be aware of differences in the color of any open fields because in NW Oklahoma (wheat country) a dark field

The new epic adventures of David Tracy. Keep um coming!

Love these adventures you go on David! I’d love to see more videos like this!

“Every bolt, every screw [has been replaced]. There is nothing left of the original car.”

The Yugo of Theseus

You found Theseus’ Yugo, congrats

Things that are inside are more reliable that things outside? Number of cars I have broken a door handle on, 1. Number of cars where a window motor went out, 5. It really doesn’t matter where it is placed, a simple lever will be more reliable than a sensor.

You joke, but a cabover pickup would be so rad.

The Chevy Goliath, making 80's kids cry at a dealer near you

This is basically where modern truck design is headed.

Sounds like they’re planning to basically filter the lithium out of the water. Which could actually improve the water quality, or could be done in a way that did.

YESSSS!  Always cool to see my namesake.

man I love Huell, he was a treasure.

Of course Huell could find the good at the Salton Sea.  That guy was amazing.

People that live in the desert year round in the middle of nowhere are a different breed, man. I’ve been to Salton Sea, Slab City and other places up round Joshua Tree where some characters live. Sometimes you’ll see full on off the grid homes and the like, sometimes trailers “protected” by old Army camo, etc..

The area was a sort of resort in the 1950s, with hotels and lakehouses and all the associated mid-century leisure stuff that entails.

Rejection denied. The usage “in name only” is the older and more common usage, going back centuries. The original definition of nominal was “pertaining to names” (“nomen”, Latin for “name”). But later on, it came to mean something that was true “in name”, but not necessarily “in practice”. That usage as also expanded
