Premium fuel allows for a higher compression ratio and thus more mechanical work to be harvested.

CAFE requirements don’t specify what fuel the vehicle has to be, so they can use any fuel type to get that required number. Diesel is an easy way of doing that. Premium fuel is another way but there’s a problem of actually getting people to use premium fuel in their car when it calls for it.
...the UAW, which prohibits engineers from working on cars in the workplace.
THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what they’re for! They are especially good at masking the ticking of injectors firing.
I used to work for one of those engineering firms the EPA would hire. Key words: Used to

Automakers and oil companies are working together on creating high-octane fuels that lower fuel consumption and increase performance, but you haven’t heard a lot about it because they could be pretty pricey
Camaro up front, Prius at the back?
This is because batteries in your phone charge to 100% of their capacity and discharge to almost 0% of their capacity. While in a vehicle, the battery is typically only charged to about 80% of its capacity and discharged to about 20% of its capacity. This allows the vehicle’s battery to maintain capacity much longer.
It’s funny cuz the Jax metro (where Amelia Island is) has the area code 904.
I have a Baja, does that count?
Does the sport bar (the roll over bar thing) improve aerodynamics or is it looks only? I’m curious to know if buttresses like that improve aero.

Nah, it was the stock pipe with a 1"steel ingot welded over the hole
When I bought my ‘04 Subaru Baja Turbo, the guy tried selling me a piece of the exhaust with the O2 sensor hole plugged, claiming that removing it increased the power.....
