Proof positive: Even smart people can be morons. Someone lock this guy up before he puts peer review over humanity.

A good tip. A lousy demonstration. If you do this, please do it more carefully than this guy. Lousy photoshop is lousy.

That's a double edged sword sir - sure you want to go there?

My criteria for empathy is this: before I try to walk in other people's shoes, I require that they are able to fit into their own clothes. As it is, I'm sitting by the sidelines snickering at the people of Walmart along with most everyone else.

Absolute statements can (and should) always be debated when they use completely arbitrary terms like "best". Best is relative, and thus completely open to interpretation. What if "best" for me included the ability to play a game without holding anything? Then PS3 would be out in the cold and not even part of the

Viper SmartStart FTW. More tech-forward, less (read:NO) dash space and much more versatile.

Let's start an "Occupy IE6" movement instead.

" I loathe Flash for its inefficiencies, ability to bring computers to their knees, and horrendous introduction animations that you just can't skip."

THIS is the reason we use layaway - I actually usually pay of about 95% of the balance immediately, but this is the best hiding spot for Xmas presents I've found yet - my kids are SNEAKY, and will find them anywhere on the property if I hide them at home. Many stores will let you pay the fee once for one purchase, so

It would be freeking HILARIOUS if that $1.50 bag of cheddar pushed the charge from attempted theft to attempted grand theft. Sweet, sweet poetic justice.

Yeah, since race is obviously the issue she's concerned about. Didn't you watch the video? She's concerned about her CAT. ;)

MacGoo doesn't care about dying meme references. ;)

Have you tried active shutter? My point is not that glasses are good, but that passive are better than active, and no glasses is the best experience possible. Here's some articles to get you started down the right path:

So a MOVIE about a comic book made you a DC hater, eh? Bit fickle, Mr. Tarantola. There's lots to like about Hal in the books themselves, even if the actor didn't do him justice in the movie.

Passive is good. ABSENT is better. The new standard format should be NO glasses.

Never? I beg to differ. Avatar was great. Scooby Doo wasn't. Gollum in LOTR was inspired. The Smurfs were insulting. It's all in the implementation, and painting in black and white leaves no room for the depth that grey can provide.

Technically speaking, you are correct. The problem is there are multiple (and sometimes competing) definitions (no pun intended) for "resolution". It's really too generic of a term to use in this argument anymore.

Agreed. Devices like this make me wish I roomed with several other foodies willing to share the expense. I would be much less hack-happy if I had much more money...

Perhaps the OP (like myself) has a larger definition of what "cartoon" implies than you. Notice all of the movies I mentioned? They're all "cartoons" in my view, and fit within your definition as well, if you set aside the "drawing" aspect, which I am perfectly happy to do in the interest of avoiding arbitrary

What does that have to do with the Lego movie then? Why in the world would they HAND ANIMATE a movie about Lego? You may have thought he was talking about hand animation, but in context it makes no sense. Besides, making the differentiation between the two is just silly - they're all the same at the conceptual level.
