How do you quantify the probability of the Almighty? Not trolling, just having trouble with the apples to oranges comparison.

Oh nos! This thread has 666 comments! Let me fix that...There, got it!
The internet really needs a sarc mark. [sarc]insert comment with good wholesome sarcasm here[/sarc] Sorry if I went off half-cocked. I may have said some things I should have kept to myself. [sarc] I'm sure you at least pop for the family size bag of self-loathing [/sarc] ;)
Congrats to her. Why am I supposed to care about this so much? Am I missing something? Is it really newsworthy? I must be loosing touch with the concept of "cool". Maybe "Cool" isn't even cool anymore. Maybe something is "uberneet" or "#ill". I'm getting old.
No, I meant it for you. "Go ahead and let the door hit you on the way out." is what I replied to. I am also in favor of reasoned dialogue. I operate using this idea: I find blind allegiance just as objectionable as blind prejudice (whether it be allegiance to a brand, or to a religious ideal).
Well reasoned, and for the most part, I agree. I especially appreciate your observation that true science must acknowledge the (astronomically unlikely) possibility that there is a God. I also stand somewhat corrected about faith in science, as long as scientists remain devoted to the ideal of stalwart objectivity.…
Hurting your feelings doesn't make me a troll. Neither does stating fact. The whole point of the statement I'm making is that I want people to have personal ownership of their ideas. If I want to know about evolution, I can google it. I don't need your help with that. But what do YOU believe? That's what I care about.…
Yelling (contrary to popular belief) doesn't bolster an argument. It simply causes the opposition to insert their ear plugs.
Not defending Gizmodo at all, but I am defending the idea. I don't respect Giz any more for doing this, due to the very idea you're proposing. Giz doesn't generally do this, and when they do it's in a "Lookit me! I'm a good guy! Please forget my past discretions because I took the moral high road this once" kind of…
Evolution is actually two separate ideas. Microevolution is the observable differentiation of species into sub-species and individuals due to breeding between compatible species. Macroevolution is the radical change of one species into a completely different and incompatible species.
Said what, exactly?
You must misunderstand my definition of faith - I'm in no way referring to God. But asking me to believe a contradiction to observable science in the name of a theory is asking me to take a leap of faith. Simple concept.
It requires faith in the evidence and it's conclusions to contradict established science. There is no denying that. Established science says that spontaneous generation is impossible. But evolution requires it to originate life. Hence faith. Scientists offer forth their best solution that DOESN'T include God, even…
Did so. Kinda thought it would undermine my point to cite an article with so many issues though. It was a rhetorical question, to be honest.
You're talking about natural selection, not evolution. I can haz fakts?
It's not an exclusive club. Don't like opposing ideas? Join a forum with a more heavy-handed admin. In the meantime, we'll continue level-headed and respectful discourse in your absence.
NIce copy and paste skills. Your google skills should also be commended.
Careful with the "democrats" label or you risk falling into the broad generalizations you're (rightly) accusing this article of making. That being said, thanks for the post. I agree, and you said it better than I could.
My pleasure. Here's to the spirit of levelheaded discourse rather than impassioned argument *raises glass to icomputered*
There's another red herring. You're calling me an idiot because I believe that the world is flat, when in fact I've said nothing of the sort. Here's a challenge - provide me with an accepted example of macroevolution that has been directly observed and empirically documented. If you say this is common knowledge,…
