@foolio1: No kidding, that clip was INTENSE.

@fuhteng: My instinct tells me that if they had stopped terrorist threats, they and the government would be patting themselves on the back about it - they wouldn't give out all of the details of "how" for security reasons, but they'd certainly be talking it up as justification for increased security.

@lightemup183: They key is to make the pat-downs more awkward for them than it is for you

While the styling on this leaves a lot to be desired, if this brings back the true compact pickup, I'm all for it.

@N@tedog: I've done pretty much the same thing in my '90 Camry. Coming off the interstate in Minneapolis after a roadtrip from Denver, traffic backup up suddenly on the offramp at ~55mph. Stomped the brakes, and the pedal went right to the floor - Downshifted into 2ND gear and pulled the handbrake and managed to

It was obvious, I'll expect a SteveNote for the cloud jump. So how about letting AC/DC sell only Albums at the Store Steve?

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Well, the car contained 850 POUNDS of lithium-ion batteries. If you're not familiar with lithium, remember back to your high school chemistry class? Remember that little chunk of off-white metal that your chemistry teacher tossed into a beaker full of water, and it burst into flame on

@grzydj: There's an argument (Maybe better described as a "meme"?) floating around the cantankerous anti-hybrid car guy internet that the the "dust to dust" lifecycle of batteries (mining the heavy metals and rare earth elements, manufacturing the battery, and then disposal when the battery is has been cycled to

@badhatharry: Two words: Regenerative Braking. The reason they're better in the city is that, instead of burning up all of your kinetic energy into heating the brake rotors when you want to stop, you put that energy back into the battery pack - which you then use to get going again.

@olemardy: Aha, "in Norway" is the key phrase here; I can imagine these being kind of exotic and therefore cool overseas.

Call me nut but I don't see what's the problem with FB handing down info to advertisers. I DEF prefer to receive the kind of advertisement I may like instead of Retirement Promos or any other thing not really interesting to me.

@olemardy: While I get "perfect family car, cruiser, cool car" and "vacation vehicle, trips to the cabin, fishing trips", I do not understand why you think this car is a chick magnet. My "one and only car" was also a full-size wagon, but I have no illusions about attracting the opposite sex in it.

As much as I want to say "Miata", cargo space is an issue; sometimes I need to haul 4'x8' sheets of plywood and the like. Sometimes I need to take more than one passenger!

Well actually for most US citizens if someone put a bullet in Christ head it'll be the same. Or let's say naming Taliban and make it playable. How about a game in which you are a Taliban, and objective is to kill Obama, or to blow yourself in a Twin Tower??

@tonyola: Well, just look at pictures from Iran from back in the '70s, before the religious kooks took over; other than the fact that 95% of the people are dark skinned/dark hair Arabs, it looks just like pictures of the USA in the '70s. Same clothing, same laid-back hippie-looking people, etc.
