It depends on the region and the industry. If you’re in California, say, then yeah, they’re going to be much more impressed by a Porsche or a Maserati. But if you’re in the rust belt, turning up in a foreign car is not always acceptable.

Tell that to both of my vehicles. Their backup cameras get dirtier faster than a toddler eating cake.

Feh. Lost interest in the A-Class when they didn’t bring the hatch here, and didn’t bring anything faster than the A220.

I know it has the “S” in the name, but CLS has always been the “4 door coupe” version of the E Class. Even the wheelbases are identical, and the interiors are mostly the same. 

I’m still angry at myself for not investing in suppliers of chromed plastic, now I feel I might also be late to the business of supplying ‘piano black’ plastic. The styling of this thing is just a hodgepodge of stuff that’s been puked up on in. Every plastic variation gets a ribbon!

Backup cameras can also be obscured by rain and dirt. 

Ah, while they chop any models that “the poors” can afford, will they also use influence in representative legislatures in order to stop other companies from producing cheaper model lines, or do they have enough clout directly in the industry for that?

Right? There’s even a small roof spoiler they could hide it under if they wanted to mount it to the top of the rear windshield. That’s how my 12 year old 4Runner works ffs.

How much drag does a rear wiper really introduce? For that amount, they were willing to make the back window effectively useless at under 50mph in weather? Or do they just count on the average driver not even looking out the back window?

I’ve seen a few of these on the road with manufacturer plates.  Whatever else you like or don’t about the vehicle, you will be very angry at Cadillac for making you watch that rear over the next decade or so.   Terribly ugly. 

Nice attempt, but they’ve already been massively out-two-toned by random dealerships. If you’re going to do it, do it right, Ford.

Does anyone actually DRIVE cars like these anyway? I feel like they just get flatbedded to be parked in front of the fanciest restaurant in town, at most. If they ever leave their “collectors” all-white garage at all.

Yeah they did a great job with the design to keep costs down. Not only is the body symmetrical from left to right, but also symmetrical from front to back.
