@P3t3: it does? I thought that was just for support.

@MattyMattMatt: Right, one of my 20 addons is probably causing my leak. I use all of them though and I have RAM to burn so I don't care.

@Prairie Moon: Though this switches RAM to virtual-RAM. That would slow down Firefox slightly because it has to access the disk to get to memory. A system with a bunch of RAM would be faster without it.

Sure, I'd be fine with it as long as it wasn't a big chunk of wasted space. If it's only for calling then it should be small and high-quality.

I've been hearing good things about IE9. People are surprised at how good it got.

@geeman89: Firefox consumes the least memory but it has memory leaks on many systems. The RAM usage will keep adding up after a few hours and can't be released until the browser is restarted.

@Pasha: That's a memory leak, it happens on some systems. It happens on mine but at a slower rate. Most people don't have memory leaks and can rock tabs for hours or days without reaching even 400mb.

So with the current size it's not suitable for a full day recording? No prob, at 480×320 at 15fps it shouldn't take more than 8gb, new versions of the device can be made for microSD cards. I would love a tiny camera using microSD.

@Mac83: Right, I should change my wording from now on.

@cruzer555: If you're going to use a DS you don't care about size, you want the programs and games. I already have a DS, now I don't need to buy a new device just to listen to a couple of mp3s, I only need a $10-$20 flash cart. DSes are cheaper than most iPods. And size doesn't stop people from listening to music on a

@cruzer555: I said it was a piece of crap. This also has a camera, mic, and microSD slot. I don't need "ease of use", the device functions perfectly, and I don't need any support either.

$35 on ebay gets me a Rockchip-based 8gb touch screen mp3 player with a radio, video playback, a camera, mic, and microSD slot. It connects through miniUSB and comes with a wall socket adapter. Sure it's crap, but it's only 35 bucks.

@Mac83: You wouldn't be limited to phones with hardware. If you want a keyboard then you just attach one, it would be designed on a hing to close around the phone. Say someone wants a Nexus One but sucks at software keyboards, that person would buy a removable keyboard and keep it on, folding it down for use.

@Ninja_peach: Cats are independent, they choose when they want to be lovers.

@Maave: *dogs but not cats

They allow cats but no dogs? That's racist.

@thenewperson: "were not thrown", I typo'd and the edit button wasn't working.

@something_unique_and_descripti...: Ah, thanks for the info.

Slide-out? When are smartphones going to have removable keyboards?
