A great alternative use for a flashlight is to shine in someone’s face to disorient and blind them. If you’re in a standoff with someone and trying to verbally de-escalate, a flashlight shining in their eyes allows someone to come up, unseen, and tackle or otherwise neutralize the threat if possible
