My dad has a PT Cruiser GT (turbo) in this color with these (factory) chrome wheels. I’m not a fan of chrome either, but I feel they looked pretty good in this application - and much better then the alternatives

You know what would be cool? Lower the ride height about 12", put it on 235/45/17 tires, cut about 4-6" from the vehicle’s height and make it a wagon

Fuel burn is kind of a moot point. I’d estime average engines burn, what, .5-.75 gallons/hr idling? Not a big loss. Cheaper then replacing someone’s windshield

I’ve been there. For older cars (or cars you don’t really care about) I hit the ice sheet with the corner of a scraping brush (the 3 foot tool that’s a brush on one end and a scraper on the other) until a small piece has broken off. Then hit with less force all around it and you’ll see the ice fall off in big chunks.…
