AmTrak is as cheap if not cheaper than planes. It’s the time that’s expensive.

It IS an experience. I rode Amtrak from Provo, UT to Sacramento, CA through the Sierra-Nevada Mountains...stunning! 24 hour ride each way instead of 12 but I didn’t have to drive.
