Oh, this is so good, I love it. I’ve been told by my Mayor, City Council and police that police cannot be the complaining witness (write tickets) for loud car music, period. Neighbors have to do it and show up to court. Except, the cars are long gone by the time police arrive or the occupants simply turn the music…

I applaud the snarky pseudo-protest, particularly since the dude had the balls to fight it in court. And what better way to let police officers know that we are watching the watchers.

Everyone in that office watched the origin of this unfold from the instant she sat down and not one was a decent enough human being to give up a seat.

And more importantly, even if no one wanted to give up her seat, she wasn’t blocking an entry/exit.. Basically this started because the HRA decided to be abusive.. and when person in question stood by their right to remain (again, peacefully and quietly).. they called in their goons.

These police officers were put in an impossible situation.

when confronted with a similar scenario, what do you want us to do? The answer cannot be ‘do nothing.’

I’m amazed that police unions continue to be awful and grow in power and influence while other noble unions are steadily getting busted and castigated as “un-American”

When confronted with a similar scenario you deescalate the situation and don’t treat people like sitting on the floor is equivalent to a crime. Trying to pull a child out of a mother’s arms is not deescalation. 

Sounds like tacit admittance that the only tool police have to resolve conflict is violence.
