315mhz is open for anybody to use. They should just be low-power. Manufacturers COULD have licensed their own frequencies for keyfobs and the like, and then could legitimately complain when they get stepped on, but they only have themselves to blame for going for an unlicensed freq.

So it would have been a better car with two vestigial seats that in turn required that they lengthen the wheelbase and therefore make it less responsive? Interesting.

Obviously you haven’t read the incredibly convincing comments made by internet engineers that totally refute the decisions Tada has made. He’s clearly an imbecile. /sarcasm

Tada doesn’t strike me as the type of guy that makes a lot of mistakes. If he found it necessary to compromise, I feel like we can trust his reasoning. If the 86 and Supra had to have parts from other manufacturers to make it to market at (relatively) reasonable price points, I say, so be it.

The pilots supposedly reported a massive electric failure after a lighting strike. With a malfunctioning plane and less than ideal weather, that landing may have been the best they could do. It certainly wasn’t great, or even particularly good considering the conditions, but they kinda get some of the kudos back...

I would much prefer flying into a mountain given the choice.

Holy shit, I swear I see some people sliding down the ramp rolling their carryons as in, it looks like some of these mentally handicapped idiots must have stopped to get their bags on the way out. If this is so these people should have been escorted back to the burning plane and thrown onto the fire.

Wow that thing slammed off the tarmac.

Runways are really long. The original “in flight” report was wrong; therefore the fire trucks would not get a head start to the stopping point. Obviously when there’s a fire everything seems to take forever. The fire trucks may be as far as 2 miles from the crash location; even if they started going 60 mph that’s two

They undoubtedly delayed the evacuation and now people are dead.

Greeeat, one of those dipshits.

Carrying your luggage out during an emergency evacuation of a burning plane: Seriously uncool.

Various -fake- news outlets are reporting at least 13 fatalities so far

I actually liked it a lot, and the dealer’s sale price of $17k was rock bottom for a small SUV.  What did me in was the back seats, they were upright 90 degrees and TERRIBLY uncomfortable. I could never put another human in there for more than 30 minutes. If it wasn’t for that, I would have been happy to save $6k

In addition to that, you should expect to see either a diesel and/or a power car on every excursion this locomotive runs. Because this locomotive was designed purely to haul freight trains, it’s highly unlikely it’ll have Head End Power (HEP) to power lights, AC, etc. for excursions.

TIL Union Pacific makes so much money they can afford to do something like this.

Put some passenger cars behind it and they could sell tickets all day long.

For train nerds, this is basically like Babe Ruth jogging back into right field for the Yankees. The Big Boys were #1 on the “too big to restore, too big to operate” list, nobody thought it would ever happen. So this is pretty much a dream come true for our little fandom.
