You are not alone. I totally understand the view people have that it is excessive and renders the truck unusable for other truck stuff. And this is true to a degree. I have a ‘17 Tacoma to handle truck stuff.

Thanks,

You can tell they are a REAL OvErLaNdEr because of the stickers and patches on the interior. I’m surprised this Jeep doesn’t have its own Instagram telling the world its a brand ambassador

I hate the name but certainly those of us car camping in the backwoods are fitting the definition these days. It seems to me you DO understand overlanding, but maybe not the necessity many feel to build up a big bad truck on the biggest tires to do it. And you are right, you don’t need all that.

I doubt it will be all at once. I am sure it will debut on the new Tundra but based on Toyotas timelines with the first two Tacomas, we wont see it until it hits the 4th gen in 2025.

A bit of a stretch to go from, “if no one there it would allow a clearer line of sight for a driver”, to infer that “it is oh so difficult to see around” and somehow translated to some incompetence about moving a steering wheel?

I used specific language that you took vaguely. Lets move on because we are in many ways arguing the same points.

Show me where i said it wasnt possible to see around three cyclists?

I never mentioned “trying to squeeze by in the same lane” so i am not sure what your trying to say.

Sure i can fill in the blanks for you since it seems confusing.

Sad fact is by them taking up the road, i could not give them as wide of a birth as i went around. It didnt matter one wide, 3 wide, I was going around regardless.

I just got home from driving around Lanzarote in a Fiat 124 Abarth (humble brag) and had to have passed 100 cyclists in that time. Luckily i was in vacation mode so i wasnt to upset by having to bang through the gears listening to that 1.4 make angry noises each and every time i went around, BUUUT there was no need

Spend any time to the east in Sun Valley and you are sure to see a couple of these beauties in great condition rolling around. I often catch a blue one in Boise parked over off 11th i think, drool every time.

Felt the same when we tested a 2017 Rubicon. We wanted one and were left so dissatisfied. Sad because we wanted to buy into the Jeep thing too. Ended up with another Tacoma instead.

That exhaust pipe is a telltale that there isnt a big motor under the hood.

My problem is that I see the use of a phone while driving to be so selfish and extremely rude to those around you. I blame it on the fact i watch a couple elementary girls get plowed by a driver texting on her phone right in front of me at 45mph. My views changed from that moment on.

You are much more polite than I am. There is no reason to be looking at your phone when driving. Pay attention to your surroundings.

How is that even possible?

Or a better solution to this and many more of the worlds problems, don’t have any kids.

So why are the BRZ’s also subject to this failure? Surely they would be exempt if the Subaru techs knew better and were not using the RTV.
