The problem is you’ll add the cap and the tent, and the armor which is all a bunch of weight. So then you will need to upgrade the suspension to handle it and not ride like an overburdened mule. Then you will get faced with the inevitable, the amount of parts available for the ‘Overlanding’ for Ridgelines is so pale

Part of it is the Toyota badge at the front. The 1995-2004 Toyota’s are the best of the bunch, in that they didn’t have the ability to ‘optimize’ every detail of the engines and transmissions. They do that now to save costs but back then they just overbuilt them (especially after the issues with the 3.Slo). I have an

Well worth the extra wear and tear.

Who cares if it is more wear, it is more fun. I do the same.

In theory i think that is rock solid logic. I did a quick (dirty)calculation of the thermal expansion/contraction of steel (rotor) going from 400*F to 75*F and the amount of contraction would be .001" ( for perspective, a piece of paper is 0.1181" thick). 400* F on the rear brakes (where the parking brakes are) would

Today I learned ‘Most places’ means ‘Lower 48'.

No they don’t.

Touche

I don’t.

Alternatively, only back into parking spaces. Safer and no reverse gremlins.

Some cars, like my Toyotas have a bypass switch so you can stand next to the vehicle, and start the vehicle. Actually use this a lot so it can start, i can load whatever in the back, then get in and go for example. If it is gear it will take off on you...

Call me the exception and not the rule, wife too. We have never gotten out of either of our vehicles without the brake set. Now if only i could get her to be so diligent about the door locks....

Why park in gear when I have a functioning Parking Brake?I only do that as an extra precaution when parked on steep terrain. But 99% of the time...why?

It sounds like the new GT. Which is not a compliment.

With there being a Million Mile Raptor, it really makes this choice hard.

Thanks for the inclusion. The lowest road is easy and very very hot. There’s your hint. The highest road isnt far away but is very bumpy! You will need 4x4....

I’ve already driven the lowest road. Highest road, that is more complicated as the highest one has a gate....second highest doesnt. Give me a couple years and ill get it done. Hoping for it to be in the same vehicle. That is the biggest Delta of elevation of almost any other vehicle in north america.

Best: Alfa Romeo Montreal

Neutral: The new Supra

Drive the highest road and lowest road in north america.
