Kudos to Kim’s excuse to explain the Bullet Hole in Jimmy’s Car. It’s entirely within the realm of possibility that’s some yahoos shot it up for fun, then pushed it into a ditch for laughs. How many times have we all seen road signs that were riddled with buckshot?

Kudos to whoever wrote the “breaking news” scrolling at the bottom of the Sky Sports sketch.

Even if it wasn’t the best ever, it was definitely nice to see some version of SNL. I actually thought it was pretty solid. I loved (as I usually do) the Kyle and Beck weirdness, lol.

Tonight was the final episode of Better Call Saul as Saul & Mike died stranded in the desert. It turns out it’s not a prequel to Breaking Bad! The B&W “flashforwards” were merely the hallucinations of a dying lawyer.

There are certain fetish communities that would beg to differ.

Hmmm.  I hadn’t really thought about how committed Jabba was to the “throwing people in various pits” thing before.

Man when Kevin Smith was great he was fucking great.

Came out on a Wednesday, and my parents had told my sister and I that we would see it on Saturday, three days that seemed eternal to a just-turned-10 years old kid. Wednesday night, about 9 o’clock, I was fast asleep when my dad, in a moment I will never ever forget, gently shakes me awake and says, “Do you want to go

I saw ‘How you chew and walk’

Luftwaffle?  LUFTWAFFLE!

It would probably be helpful if there were some sort of centralized source for important information, maybe a branch of government that might be more executive than legislative. The head of the office could present themselves in a presidential sort of way, overseeing a unification of multiple state level actors so

“All frosting” is probably the best description I’ve ever heard of what happens when Peak TV goes wrong. I’m going to use it.

This was the longest two part TNG episode ever.

Considering the track record with the reviews/grades here and the actual quality of the episodes, I’m going to safely assume this season finale is actually pretty good.

I got a Community notification for this?

I like how the show somehow figured a way for Riker to yell “SHEILDS UP!”

Ok, I take that point back. It’s not completely fair of me to sit here and criticism something I can’t do (really, I’ve apprenticed sound design and was awful at it). Since writing my post I found a very thoughtful discussion between sound engineers who have worked with SNL over on Reddit, and it seems it really is

My dad was the same, he made sure we saw it on the biggest screen possible. We got to the theater a bit late and would have missed the first 5 minutes, so he took us to an arcade to pass the time until the next showing so we wouldn’t miss anything. My 12-year-old self was sooo happy. RIP, dad.

As successful as Star Wars was, I still don’t think Star Wars would be the cultural phenomenon it became if it hadn’t been for Empire. Empire just raised the bar on everything and so effectively moved the story ahead. And remarkably, every Star Wars movie since has been a disappointment. But we all keep going because

And here we go. Spielberg is sitting down in the director’s chair and we’re firmly entering the era of the culture-swallowing blockbuster.
