About the "Don't experiment on your main PC" part, I would also suggest using Sandboxie to test potentially damaging softwares. It is also less resource intensive, and you would see the exact behavior of the application on your current system state.

Saying they are not actively working on it I can believe, but saying they have no plans, not so sure.

InterfaceLIFT is an amazing source of wallpapers, available in multiple screen resolutions.

If it's only about eyecandy, I don't care. If it actually enhance gameplay then maybe, but not at all cost.

I don't mind the Steam platform DRM, because it won't leave the system clean if you decide to not use it anymore and uninstall it. But bundling SecuROM on top of Steam is just annoying and useless.
