imo a franchise’s canon should be messy and inconsistent. Art/media means different things to different people, and Star Wars especially has a bunch of influences, ideas, and themes with no one really comprising what “makes” Star Wars. Placing that under the purview of one person who’ll then decide what Star Wars “is”

You know that old joke where Bono slow claps his hands at a gig and says “every time I clap my hands, a child dies of starvation”, and some wag in the audience says “stop clapping, you fucker”?

‘”Ngl, my heart skipped a beat when I read, “Chris Hemsworth finally comes out...” “’

He’s Australian. We have pretty good bullshit-o-meters for this sort of thing.

I can’t remember a time in my life before the clapping!!! My hands hurt! Please let us stop!

A dune prequel. What could possibly go wrong...

Yeah, the allegations that he’s choosing to use an old school/analogue way of making a film rather than a quicker digital shortcut...is that supposed to upset me?

With regards the kissing - if people say it was inappropriate, I’ll believe them.

That’s unfortunate. I was hoping Part 1 would be the story told from Galinda’s point of view, and Part 2 would be the entire story but told from Elphaba’s.

I’m genuinely wondering if they are just going to straight up remake the Wizard of Oz because I don’t know what will be weirder: Wizard of Oz happening off camera or having to watch them try to recreate it. I also think the balance of music to plot is going to be super weird.

Yeah, the jury’s still out on the two parter question. No matter how good it is, if part one ends with ‘Defying Gravity’, no one’s showing up for part two.

i think she just means she was so locked in it took her two months to realize how locked in she had been.

I got a Community notification for this?”

Intrigued by the casting of Domhnall

The new show is just 22 minutes of Gleeson and Impacciatore scowling at each other and growling, respectively, “Italian...” “Irish...

I took my family to see it and we all absolutely loved it. The whole cinema stayed to watch the credits, and then applauded at the end - a real rarity in British cinemas (last witnessed at the end of Top Gun Maverick, in the IMAX, which really was something special for this Top Gun-obsessed child of the 80s). Blunt

They do a cover version in this one, Not sung by Gosling, even though we know by now that he Can sing, which is a waste as well.

That’s a hell of a waste considering it was a classic example of the theme song written specifically for the show.

It also has the theme song of the show the movie seems to have forgotten until the end credits and the mid credit scene.
