But how is that average reported time being measured? Are people putting 30 hours into a game out of love, or a sunk cost fallacy? Is it 40 hours of happiness, or 5 of happiness and 35 of hating yourself but you have nothing better to do?

Jesus you’re such a negative cunt. I’d love to play this at a D&B’s. Looks like fun.
Well there is a reason why the special unique games are typically made by smaller indie devs now...because they don’t have to ask someone else for millions of dollars to take a chance on their idea.
Clearly since he is a victim of abuse, the responsibility to fix his entire home country falls upon his shoulders.
I like the part where I said nothing like that happens anywhere outside of Korea and Japan. I also like that other part where I’m doing more than just recounting a story relevant to the culture discussed in the article...oh, wait, those parts never happened!
I’m not from the US ::shrug::
*shrugs* It happens. Ports can be notoriously difficult to get right and bug free. Even non-port games get delayed over polish and technical issues in the end-stages of development. I’m not really seeing anything here that indicates NIS handled this any better or worse than other devs.
If someone has worked and earned their money it’s their’s to do with as they please. The statue is stupid expensive but if someone can afford it and it makes them happy then that’s all that matters.
Exactly. People keep bringing up reddit’s 40 hour hero unlock even though those calculations were way off. It was just a guess and everyone took it as truth.
You have no idea what marketing departments do. You couldn’t have a functioning company without someone doing marketing.
I understand not playing Pokemon ... but the joke is explained in the comic.
No one is saying it’s Valve’s responsibility. Even the bit you quoted said it’s in Valve’s interest, which is undeniably true. It’s in Valve’s interest for developers and publishers to think Steam sells product.
Considering how many people in the FGC like to misinterpret stats on Steam Spy to mindlessly compare and diss games, I’m pretty happy to say that these stats won’t be missed if this leads to less toxicity. (who am I kidding, they’ll find something else :’)
I love how you just brush off blatant racism as “mostly whatever”. Really says a lot what you do in your free time.
I’m not sure exactly how my toothpaste is going to fix the earth, but let’s hear it?
It’s also pretty absurd to lump all the different forms of culture and governance that span that 1000+ years into a single, simple category, and act like nothing has ever changed.
The funny thing about that is that the animation is actually more dynamic and fluid now. They changed the style to something simpler in order to do so.
So I wouldn’t say he’s bootleg. He’s just more cartoon.
I’ve met many of these original Atari developers, and while some made good money (at least when they left), and a few told stories of smoking pot, I don’t know of any who were sexual harassers and rapists. But way to go painting them all with such a broad brush...
It’s definitely not more chaotic than BF1. That’s objectively false.
One of players’ biggest complaints since before the game was even officially out was how hard it was to unlock iconic characters like Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader.
