I think they should have just upped the maintenance/refurb budget for our existing platforms to use as “bomb trucks” and built more F-22s for the fighter role instead. F-22s secure the airspace, F-15s/16s/18s deliver the goods afterwards. They could have even made the Navy version of the F-22.

Good catch, I had totally forgotten about this. But but to be fair the SR-71 and the U2 couldn’t be intercepted by aircraft at the time so there was no way to line up with them and tell them to turn around like we do with TU-95 Bears and they do with P-3 Orions for example... and these incidents still seemed to be the

There are definitely advantages to the delta wing design. See the F16XL vs the regular F16. Twice as many hardpoints (also 16, coincidentally) which it could carry 40% farther than the conventional design.

This list needs moar X-29

Seizing cargo ships loaded with stuff you can’t buy because of sanctions and embargos seems like a good way to get around said sanctions and embargos... at least until it provokes a war.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of Russia and it’s newfound aggression and expansion policies... I think they are pushing more towards a hot war than a cold war. But my gut reaction from reading the article was that trying to destroy the sub without issuing a warning was a dangerous overreaction. It used to be in the cold war

Maybe you like wasting your day playing games with shady salespeople. I don’t. I also know how to play football... doesn’t mean I want to play it.

What I’d really like, which will never happen, is to reboot the system. Most dealers want MSRP or more. Most consumers want invoice or less. I just wish MSRP were just MRP and that price aligned with the average transaction price for the given car (usually a good deal less than MSRP and a decent amount above invoice,

$500-1000 more than *what* I guess is the golden question, isn’t it? I’ve bought a lot of cars, and I’m not one of those people that wants to buy under invoice and brag to all his friends about how I screwed the dealership. I’d like to get a good deal and not get screwed though. I love the idea and experience of

I’ve heard about it a lot but it has never happened to me. The first time they told me they wouldn’t give me back my keys I’d call 911 without even informing them that was what I was going to do. They’ve obviously never had a cop actually make it over to tell them how bad an idea that tactic is and I’d like to have

Not the USAF, but there were American volunteer pilots at the Battle of Britain.

This is a really cool chart. Now I’m wondering... is there anywhere I can go to see a detailed comparison of the Nimitz class carrier vs the new Gerald R Fords? I’ve seen a few things mentioned here or there but there has to be a huge amount of differences.

Brought my car into a local mechanic with good ratings to have a constant misfire CEL diagnosed (this was after I myself had replaced spark plugs, coil packs, and fuel injectors trying to sort the problem out over a period of a couple months). It sat there for 3 days in the same spot every day not looking like they

I wonder where and how it will finally tie-in. I mean he has to fail, right? Maybe not die, but for the original game to be cannon he can’t stop them.

But duuuude we’re totally living in the future. Amirite?

My wife is extremely short and she banged her head while getting into the car. Then, even after seeing her bang her head and taking extra precautions to not hit mine, I still did anyway. I’ve never had to rule a car out as a purchase for this reason ever before, and I’ve squeezed into some really small cars.

Man, I hate the interiors from these generation GM cars. So much bulbous, tumorous looking plastic, like someone took a nice clean dashboard and stuck an air inflator into it and put in a few too many PSI. Great cars otherwise though.

There was also a mid-engine Miata concept.

That’s exactly how I read it when I saw it.
