I have a theory... Some may reject it, but I think it’s an aspect of the psychology of this whole thing.

Yes, it’s a very “anglo-american” value to value independence so much that the elderly are sent off to be someone else’s responsibility. You don’t see this in the many collectivist cultures all over the world that value community and group over the individual.

I agree.

“overrun” is a subjective term.

White coworkers of mine (teachers) had a totally public discussion in the teacher’s lounge about how overrun our city had become with Hispanics and how much they disliked it. I could not believe they were that bold to share this openly; they had each had a few Hispanics in their classrooms.

“However, being white and walking into an all black community very often results in hatred, disgust, and general negativity.”

This could easily have been a conversation between a Trump supporter and a BLM activist.

I don’t think we should wait to introduce these topics, but I believe we tailor them to fit the students developmental level. The OP cites an example of the topic not tailored appropriately.

Okay, how young..... if your theory is ‘the younger the better’... 3rd grade? 1st grade? How about describe KKK to preschoolers to ask them this question? I just want to see where your cut off is.

True,

Okay, but in fifth grade?

The approach I take is that with each year a child advances in school, the more they can handle learning given their development progress. This teacher didn’t take that into account. Also, the question is garbage. Inappropriate.

There are some sorts of insults that are so common that everyone has accepted them as the norm....

One of my best memories is playing spades until 3am every night in my college dorm lobby. Best. Game. Ever.

Knowing all this info, I will definitely never use this company if I ever need to look for a budget motel.

I still wonder why you only address men specifically regarding the NFL topic. Women make up about 40% of NFL fans.

Do you believe it’s always been this bad?; Or that Trump is just bringing the racism that has always been there to the surface?

Yes. I didn’t mean to imply otherwise.

The NFL brings that effect about by incorporating patriotism into every game.

I’m sad (but not surprised) they’re Baltimore Ravens fans. SMH
