I think I recall learning that close to 40% of NFL fans are female. Not sure why they were excluded as an audience of this challenge.

My Trump-loving aunt and her family seem to associate the flag directly with the lives of fallen soldiers. Its part of why they revere it. They’re shocked that anyone would kneel during the anthem, seeing it as blatant disrespect and disregard of the actions of those fallen soldiers.

Unfortunately, I think people give Trump too much credit. Trump loves power. Trump does whatever it is that he believes will keep him in power. So, what this decision says to me is less about who Trump hates, and more about who Trump supporders hate.

I do think that nose-hold voting is inevitable in every election. People are not so uniform in their motivations. That being said, I’ll concede most of Trump’s voters seem to really love him. And the white nationalism is a driving force, as were jobs.

I have a feeling that most of the nation cares more about general job and manufacturing growth than they do about correcting racist practices.
