If that 17 yo is on their own and working full time hours, they should be able to eat, and pay rent without public assistance. If they are shit at their job, they should be fired, not be unable to make ends meet working 40-50 hours a week.

No, there needs to be a salary cap, like in sports, and the minimum wage federally should be a living wage. This shouldn’t be something I should have to explain to, or tell you.

I’m not sure if anyone answered this for you, but you have the option with both Lyft and Uber to share a ride with other passengers for a much, much cheaper fare than taking it by yourself. Essenttially a taxi-carpool.
