I’m both a very angry person and very pessimistic, so who knows what kind of rage I’d be capable of if I stopped being such a cynical prick!

There’s a flip side to this truth. I had a discussion with a religious person, many years ago. My thesis was ‘low expectations, no disappointments, no anger’. His rebuttal was ‘if you never get angry, your internal machinery is dull and you’re never really truly glad’. Might have been right, that man, huh?
I’m what I like to call an optimistic pessimist. Either I’m right, or I’m pleasantly surprised.
This is such a self-defeating way of interpreting things that serves no one except those who sell anti-depressants and booze.
