I kind of agree with all of that but I keep coming back to the fact that no attorney has stepped forward with knowledge of a will.

Shouldn’t you also have a will to spell out how the trust is split? All of my mom’s assets are in a trust and I am the Trustee. I have a copy of her will that spells how what percentage everyone gets from the trust when she dies and the trust is dissolved.
