Disagree 100% about CCing a boss from the start of an email request for two reasons:

I oversee a group of 35. I’m one of the latest arrivers at 8am. I couldn’t care less if you came early because I barely notice but you better be darn sure I notice when your desk is empty at 4:00pm. Especially when I get complaints from customers that they can’t reach anyone after 4pm.
