I love K’Naan and have seen him a number of times, so I’m with you that he should be well known.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuup. That is a very positive - some might say...delusional? - take on the company and its founder.

I really hope that the show focuses more on the community and dealing with the kind of issues K’Naan addressed in Troubadour than a strictly Jihadi theme. Al Shabaab has a significant presence in Somalia and Northern Kenya. I’m sure there are refugees that have relationships with members and that recruitment among

The reaction both myself and my coworker who have worked in fashion for a while and know the deal on nastygal had when reading the description of the show.

Now playing

Anything K’Naan does is going to get at least the benefit of the doubt from me. (Also, I watched him perform in Minneapolis and it was outrageously good. He did the Somali national anthem - there’s a large Somali population there - and it was a beautiful thing to witness.)

I wanted K’naan to blow since like 2005, so I hope he finally does it. Bigelow looks fucking fantastic for 64.

K’naan is fucking awesome, although the description sounds kind of one dimensional.

I’m ambivalent about Bigelow, but K’Naan is an incredibly artist. He wrote this column in 2012, and I hope this helps his graceless limp toward beauty.

Look up SMART Recovery. It is 100% agnostic and employs CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) principles. It’s awesome.

Personally I know a lot of trauma survivors in the rooms feel that AA does encourage a self blame culture because we are always told to acknowledge our side of the street and our part in every situation. There are some circumstances though, like rape or molestation or abuse (which many people in AA have been victims)

“Hari Nef is killing it”

Anyone thinking of attending an AA meeting, or currently in AA should read this article:

It’s not that AA doesn’t work... It’s that the rational of always thinking of yourself as someone branded an addict who always needs to avoid is problematic. If it works its because people find a new community where they are loved and accepted without curing social alienation with substances. All the research coming

And AA has been proven to be problematic. There are other alternatives to AA, I really wish it wasn’t viewed as the only solution.
