In Pokémon Go, the fish trolls the fisherman.

As someone who read them as recently as the age of 35...rest assure that they are still super deep and interesting. :) And worth a re-read.

So far as I can remember, the only controversy surrounding Pullman is that he’s a strident atheist and portrays christianity very negatively in his book series. A lot of christian groups got very angry at the books, and then carried it on to the film adaptation a few years ago.

You’re probably thinking of Orson Scott Card. That guy is a total dickcheese.

Well, there’s his atheism. Back when the series was being put together for Hollywood consumption, a number of Christian groups made noise about how anti-Christianity the books were. Which, well, okay. He made some interesting arguments against religion in general.

Christ I hate moe.

Donny did a great job mimicking BDs inflection if it was intentional

I don’t think I would call FMA “Steampunk.” It’s more Edwardian Fantasy. (And yes that was a pun. No it was not intentional. Yes, Edwardian is a thing, relating to the reign of King Edward VII who was the successor to Queen Victoria. Sherlock Holmes is Edwardian.)

They are all “eerily similar” because in every instance the driver mistakenly mashed down the accelerator.

Okay, so for a group of women to band together to pull off a complicated heist, it has to be because one of them has been scorned? Can’t it be straight business or just anti-hero stuff? Why do ALL of our action female stories need to be based on a romantic past?

Well, saying you must be a person who rejects Donald Trump’s stances amounts to the same thing as saying you must be a person who didn’t vote for him. It’s a 99.9% overlapping Venn diagram, at least.

Nuance, reading comprehension, and attention to detail are not exactly things Trump supporters are known for.

I’ll give you Viserys, but Joffrey’s death was underwhelming compared to what that douche deserved. And the Mountain only sort of died and still got to smash Oberyn’s face to pieces, so... not super satisfying. :P

This was one of those moments in season six where I thought “This is almost certainly not how it’s going to turn out in the books.”

Ok first of all the homolkas are the worst. And her life is disgusting. But there is definitely a group of vigilantes keeping tabs on her too... It makes me so sick that she has kids

I still can’t get beyond the father’s remark about it being “a steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action”.

This. He definitely has a lot of resentment for the victim. Based on the shit he and his family have pulled, I don’t believe he’s sorry for even a second about anything other than getting caught.

Yes, I’m sure he feels like a martyr. His parents will likely reinforce this belief.

Dad’s friend slaps Brock on the back. “Youthful indiscretion, young man. A shame that girl targeted you.”
