Is it really surprising though?

I think it was O’Reily or possibly Kragen at the time.

I understand the mechanics behind it. I just didn’t realize that manufacturers were employing this kind of strategy. Computer programming has come a long way from the early EFI days. It is basically operating in KOEO mode. Spinning the engine via engine braking would in turn spin the alternator, and be able to still

Come to think of it, I recently drove a 2017 Honda Ridgeline. It had the sensation of engine braking with off throttle coast down with the transmission in the normal “D” selection. High tech stuff.

So the converter clutch locks and the one way clutches/diodes in transmission are selected, achieving engine braking with the engine off??? This makes no sense to me. The engine must be running for the converter to turn, and the converter hub then turns the transmission pump. This is why some vehicles can not be

Cut off the fuel flow? If this happened, then how would the engine keep running? Reduce the injector pulse width, yes because on a down hill coast with closed throttle, engine manifold vacuum is high and engine load is low.

I am literate, therefore a Nazi? I will be the next to take it out of context. ;-)

The receipt also shows how many gallons you bought. The bank statement will only further confirm this.

I love it. I got myself a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 for $300, and that thing pretty much goes wherever I want to.

You forgot to enter “paying attention” in boldface type.

I am surprised the Ranger didn’t make the list. I had an old ranger with 260k on it when I sold it. I also have two Mustangs with over 150k.

Exactly. This problem didn’t exist until the backlit gauges and drls. It used to be that you politely high beam an oncoming person who forgot to turn on their headlights. Now we have the same issue for taillights. Except now, we can not communicate this with a flash of the high beams without looking like a dick.

I don’t know about that. I bet the motoring public didn’t have this problem when we had to manually turn on the headlights.

I see what you did there.

Roadkill and Dirt Every Day are pretty good too.

For all the strange occurrences that take place at Wal-Mart, this one seems to be a bit routine.

I’d venture to say that this misconception is Kanye West’s big mouth’s fault.

This is exactly why I hate the corner used car lot. Where do the repoed cars go? To the auction. Where do the small used car dealers get their inventory? The auction or previous rental vehicles. I bought new once, but have purchased many used cars via private party since then. It also doesn’t hurt that I can

Hahaha. If only hipsters were of the Raptor buying variety.
