YESSSS YOUNG MISHA WILL NEVER NOT BE GLORIOUS
I love telling people this tid-bit.
At some point Cyd Charisse did an interview and said her husband could always tell who she’d been dancing with. If she was just a little tired, it was Astaire. If she was black and blue all over (from the dancing), it was Kelly. A testament to the differences in the men’s styles.
100% true to my and my friends’ experience. Best friend was a professional ballet dancer and her male partners were swimming in P*ssy all the time. My husband’s parents were ballroom dance teachers (Father-in-law STILL gets tons of attention from the ladies and he’s 75), and my husband had his pick of all the teen…
This, especially the bit about being fans of each other. Kelly wouldn’t have been able to do what he did if Astair and Rogers hadn’t blazed the trail with their massive success.
I have good news for you! The film is in development :)
I love For Me and My Gal. The ending where she spots him in the crowd of returning servicemen, after having called him a coward for dodging the draft, never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
I second this.
Makes sense about the leggings, and about your wanting to wear them at home :) Ooof when I think back to the cult-y culture of that job... I’ve had a lot of shit jobs but that was the only one where I called home crying on the drive home because it was so awful :(
your comment is spot on, about Garland’s voice in her final year AND about Me and My Shadows. Davis was UNREAL in that film.
1. This is a great idea for a show.
I avoid all awards-season screenings for exactly this reason. The questions from the audience (that is supposed to be made up of fellow industry professionals!) are *SO* cringe-inducing. It makes me embarassed just to be there, so I don’t go anymore.
A few pairs of shoes. These Tamara Mellons:
oooh those are great and it’s going to haunt me now too.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you all the virtual hugs.
thank you for putting into words what I’ve always felt but couldn’t describe. Sums up my thoughts on Ms. Carter perfectly.
You. Look. AMAZING.
Ditto.
The makeup in the header photo... why do we insist on looking like fuckable aliens from ‘90s Star Trek? At least blend that shit out, christ.
