To follow up on Dave’s post, here is some more from The Walker Brothers! Frontman Scott Walker (what a voice!!!) has passed away at the age of 76. After a string of pop hits, Scott moved into the progressive rock genre, influencing David Bowie a great deal, and he later influenced bands like Radiohead. In fact, I saw

I have posted this many times on DUAN and it never ceases to amuse me to no end! I believe it is 1979 and it is The Cure’s first public performance. A shy, shaggy-haired kid steps up to the microphone, and amazingly, when he opens his mouth Robert Smith’s voice comes out! Great stuff and I recently read that The Cure

I couldn’t even try to venture a guess at how many artists/bands have covered this awesome tune over the years, but none are as good as Fred “Sonic” Smith and MC5! Jeff Buckley does a pretty good job here, though.

The other that comes to mind is Dio as far as being underrated but Steve Marriott is tops in my book of underrated vocalists.

Whenever I post an Elton song, I almost feel obligated to credit Bernie Taupin as well, since he was much of the brilliance behind Elton.

The Gits were an up and coming Seattle Grunge band fronted by the dynamic Mia Zapata.

The kid has tons of soul and I love how he gets lost in his solo he’s diggin’ the music so much! I hope we see a lot more of him!

I really love Peter Gabriel’s Genesis! Great post!

Twenty-year-old Christone “Kingfish” Ingram is an up and coming Bluesman from the Mississippi Delta, just a short distance from Robert Johnson’s legendary Crossroads.

It was an awesome show, Jonee! And even though we were just dumb kids, we all appreciated the experience.
