yeah thats what Wright said years ago, long before anything became greenlit or approved. the script could be completely different right now. if i remember correctly he wasnt even close to finishing his ver of the script when he said that.

Everything after and in between KH1&2 were either boring, horrible, or nonsensicle for me. I'm actually perfectly satisfied with just playing those 2. Chain of Memories was actually kind of fun tho.

play the game first is all i can say. the anime feel supplementary to the game. with a few inside joke and story telling that not quite imitates the game. It can be pretty funny at times but its feels more campy and it falls into more typical anime tropes than the game.

I get what ur saying and I do like what the anime and the game did with Kanji's character.

He's not reviewing the game he's reviewing the anime. And in the anime the scene is much more immature and ineffective than the game. I can see why the scene may seem a bit homophobic without the context of the game.

Kanji's scenes from the anime are very different from the game. The part that people are defending (kanji's sauna stuff) plays out in a pretty immature and maybe homophobic way in the anime compared to the game.

All these things you say may be true, but Kanjis scene in the game portrayed this much better than the anime which pretty much turned it into a bad joke. It feels like they were too afraid to actually deal with the issue seriously in the show so they covered it in humor.
