There is no simplification in skyrim. It is actually more complicated due to the perks tree, which allow Bethesda to have less actual skills to spread points around, but let you specialize more and become skilled in a specific thing easier.

The ROB did what they intended it to do, and very well. They didn't try to innovate with it, they tried to convince retailers that this wasn't just a games console, since most people thought they were a gimmick in America and the market was only just recovering from a massive crash.
That's one of the reasons Roger Ebert is great. He focuses on what the film tries to do.
RE stole the "zombie dogs break through the window" from the very first scene in Alone in the Dark. If you stay in the room too long, a thing breaks into the room from the window. It might have been a dog.
Because I took the effort to read the rest of the plot on some pretty in depth summaries. The dialogue is horrendous.

Oh yeah, I forgot to answer your question. I really don't consider games as art, but if I had to consider an art-like game, I'd probably pick The Void by Ice Pick Lodge.

I played ff7 for about 10 or 15 hours before I got completely fed up with the story (which was pretty absurd, full of holes, and average JRPG final fantasy fair, archetypes galore). The art didn't really bother me, but the story was pretty horrendous and the characters were pathetic.
Unfortunately, Ebert is completely and 100% right in his opinions on this topic. Unfortunate, but true.
Final Fantasy VII sucks. He lost all credibility when he mentioned that.
