Having spent most of the week grinding my way to getting a better quality rocket launcher, last night I finally completed Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Which, as I said a few weeks ago, has been far better than an unnumbered MGS game originally released on PSP has any reason to be. Only gripe is that, as with so

Happy treason day, ungrateful colonials, and so on and so forth, etc. Hope you get some good gaming in on your day off.

Even sadder that he only got $1.09 in damages.

Nah, I don’t think Lord Lucan posts here anymore since we moved onto Kinja.

Though apparently the same trailers are used on other Ghibli DVDs which are still U rated. I agree with you in suspecting fuckup.

Well that’s interesting. BBFC’s twitter account here suggests that maybe it’s due to some bonus content on the disc.

He was strangely unimpressed that a film he’d taken his 11 year old son to the cinema for started off with a rape joke.

Been a long while since I’ve seen it, but although Batman is less violent than most 12As now, from what I recall there may be some behaviours and implied threats towards female characters which I guess the BBFC see as unsuitable for a younger audience.

I certainly never paused and rewatched Jamie Lee Curtis in Trading Places. Nor, in a hypothetical scenario which now seems absurdly of its place and time, Emma Thompson in The Tall Guy.

You’re right, I’d forgotten that there was such a long time between 12 as a cinema rating and for home video.

I specifically remember Batman being the first film with a 12 rating here, because I was ten at the time and so my parents wouldn’t take me to it even though alllllll of my friends had seen it.

I’m still deep in the rabbit hole of MGS: Peace Walker side missions while Zadornov occasionally escapes the brig. There sure seem to be a lot of them which are just repeats on a theme ofcapture this vehicle which is slightly different to that other vehicle and with slightly more soldiers.” As I can no longer be

I read Robinson Crusoe last year, so to me it sounds like they’ve made a game that’s as frustrating and as hard work as the book.

Yeah, I had the “Date with Paz” mission over the weekend, which was a good change from the usual.

The side mission rabbit hole is actually the thing I’m finding most frustrating about it. And you’re right, it’s difficult to think much of anything about either Coldman or Zadornov.

I’ve got to the first “ending” of MGS: Peace Walker. I say first ending because, being MGS, it’s far more complicated than that.

That’s a really good point actually. I don’t remember any of the others doing the thing that’s supposed to make them such a threat.

Just did it last night! (Had a lot of faffing in the meantime doing Extra Ops missions so I could get a decent rocket launcher).

Which one? (I haven’t done them all yet - currently faffing around redoing missions to recruit better R&D people, so I’ll have a decent rocket launcher for the Peace Walker battle Round 2).

Thanks. Yes it’s another Obsidian one I think. It’s on my list.
