To those who say “can’t be auctioned off because ___,” my solution would have been to donate the vehicles to technical schools. Have kids disassemble them, learn how engines work, get a headstart in engineering.
Dad had all of them recorded on VHS, usually in real time so he could pause during the commercials. Every tape had 3-5 episodes on it with starting and ending footage labeled for future indexing.

Article in June’s Cycle World about commuting. They use a Yammy YZF R3. The bike trounces the Honda Fit AND public transportation.
13,000+ commuting miles (only 20 miles per day, round trip) on my trusty old Kawa Ninjette, and other than oil changes I’ve bought two tires a battery and a windscreen extender. Over 60 mpg riding two up (wife commutes with me to our office). Yeah, it’s a no brainer.

To be honest, I don’t think it was. I know the Motorcyclist guys had a ton of issues with theirs, but I rode one from Detroit to upstate New York last year and thought it was a massive improvement.
