Is it okay if I- white, straight, male- play this game, too? Because I like it!

I heard Lindy West on a podcast this week say something similar about how when she really started start understanding intersectional feminism is when she started understanding that some black people just may not like her, ever, and respect that even though she thought of her self as a Nice White Lady. And them

its a bunch of privileged oblivious “girls” who are trying to make their way in the big apple. its all bullshit and dumb and isn’t even satirical. like lena claims its supposed to be social commentary on these types of people but its not. its awful. if you want to see young women in the city, watch Broad City. like

me rn.

I’m so fucking tired.

That’s an interesting ethics exercise. At what point does “curing” people fundamentally change who/what they are and become not okay? What point are we overriding free will and making people machines?

‘black white or purple’ *marks down square on ‘ignorant bingo’ card* IVE GOT BINGO

I get a strong “He does goofy stuff to irritate her, she needles him back and then as soon as the camera turns off they start fucking” vibe from their interviews, which would explain why they have so many kids.

I can’t handle open shelving. I think all of the dust and particles in the air getting in dishes would be a pain. Plus, I’m California, where we have the treat of earthquakes, open shelving in a kitchen of al rooms, just seems to be asking for death by open shelving.

I'm curious about the authors ethnicity. Whether it's a Latino responding to this or white person white knighting.

I first read “trees” as “teens” and thought, eh, probably had it coming.

I’m from Tennessee too and thought, “Oh my gosh, that is so Tennessee.”

“A month before she won her final championship, in 2008, Ms. Summitt dislocated her shoulder while shoving a raccoon off the deck of her home in Knoxville, then tried for two hours to reset her shoulder before calling a doctor.”

I have so many Big Feelings about Pat Summitt, but I am oddly relieved that she and her family “only” had to deal with the diagnosis for 5 years. (I realize that she probably had signs for much longer.) My grandmother lived for ~12 years after her DX of Alzheimer’s and it was horrible.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why shouldn’t we be talking about gun control when something like this happens? Is it somehow outlandish for a government to look at a tragedy and think “how can I stop this from happening in the future?”

Why is this, an ostensibly feminist blog, referring to sexual activity involving multiple adults and a minor who cannot legally consent a “sex scandal”?!

Aimee - Can you explain this to me?
