I think it's basically the opposite at this point in time. I LOVE Steely Dan but am ashamed to admit it publicly because of the pretentiousness associated with that band. Someone posted an excerpt of Fagan's autobiography the other day and I think I made it 20 words in before throwing up in my mouth.
