Yup and Florida will be one of the places hurt the most. Hope all his voters will be making up for the losses by going to all the theme parks and venues and spending all their cash to Make America Great Again.

And I also read that international students applying to colleges/attending here has dropped more than 33% as well. The reprocussons are now becoming defining.

Well, I haven’t met Donald Trump.

I just read an article the other day that say there are 50,000 illegal Irish immigrants. I doubt any of them would be asked to show an ID.

This was not a rational decision, I’m sure. I manage a popular restaurant in a big city, and similar restaurants are hugely dependent on tourists for sales. So it definitely wouldn’t make sense to turn away “non-citizens” (let alone ANYONE who’s a paying customer!).

I heard today that the number of tourists visiting the US have dropped. Combination of different factors, mostly people don’t feel welcome, they worry how they will be treated, applying for a visa is a pain in the ass and the US is just a less apealing place to visit now

Probably 90% of the people making the food in the kitchen are immigrants! I wonder if the waiter checked their IDs before working with them.

According to the women, he asked: “I need to make sure you’re from here,” not “I need to make sure you’re old enough to drink.” Either they wildly misheard him or he wanted to know their area of residence and not their age.

Contrast with:

I wonder if he refuses to deliver plates of food put together by the kitchen help which no doubt includes people not from this country?

Who the fuck has energy to declare themselves the border police while they’re waiting tables?

The hell? What if they weren’t? I’m Canadian and have vacationed in Cali several times, and have *gasp* eaten in restaurants. As a non-local citizen.

“I need to make sure you’re from here,” the waiter told the women who, not knowing what else to do, handed over their IDs.

This is beyond stupid. Imagine if movies or books were only about escapism. Sorry that your subculture is outgrowing you, but I promise there will always be plenty of dumb, escapist fun, same as there are trashy movies and books. Calm down.

I never got getting enraged at a game in general, nevermind people involved in or around games.

Jumping in to stress, if there are those who wish to argue it, that this is not “criticism.” Criticism is measured and well considered. Criticism makes an argument. Criticism makes a case. Criticism comes from a position of good faith and respect.

Okay, dude, the fact that you’re even placing a feminist critic - who you may or may not agree with, whatever - offering her critique of games and gaming culture as being in some sense equivalent to/’the other side’ of a group of people who go out of their way to ruin women’s lives is kinda f-ed up? Like, I’m not

Allie is a friend and fellow co-worker and she’s wondering and has been great in the video game community, not just as a person who works in games. She’s previously been featured in a Kotaku article for her Dragon Age cosplay at PAX. Seeing this kind of stuff happen to someone I know is disheartening, as someone who

Another point: after 10 hours of play I can honestly say this is a super overreaction. By and large the animations are serviceable with only a handful of extremely minor NPCs suffering from very poorly done animations.

Not only is this despicable, it’s testament to how ignorant and stupid these cretins are. Bad animation can be the result of slow tools, unfriendly tech, limited staff resources, and countless other factors (including but not limited to the fact that getting human faces to feel “human” is really friggin’ hard). That’s
