They mentioned Cape Suzette in the premiere, and in the first scene with Webby there's a background newspaper clipping mentioning sky pirates. So yeah, I'm expecting TaleSpin to pop up later in the show.

It's not just the tone, it's the entirety of the writing and direction of these movies. None of the characters make sense or have any kind of development, and while spectacle is good and all, it's pointless if you can't even give a single sh#t about the heroes.
