Sharing a bedroom with an opposite sex sibling; negative messages about sex/bodies/genitals, etc. When so many girls and women who look like you have lives that are derailed by teenage motherhood, there might be a stronger incentive to take things slow.

Your last sentence is everything. It’s amazing how skilled they are at straddling that line, leaning in whichever direction is more beneficial at the time.

I agree with you 100% about how people’s successes often omit the whole story. It’s annoying and not truthful.

This is a common criticism of the minimalist/early retirement/financial independence community.

White culture denigrates mixed people as well. I believe that even mixed kids such as your own should learn about the personal and broad history of his Black ancestors so as not to hate that part of himself or his family.
