Yup, he speaks from a place of straight, white, male privilege and always has. It’s why POC, women, and LGBT mainly voted for HRC. He doesn’t acre about us, not where it matters to us, although he seems to care an awful lot about the white males who voted for Trump.

I trusted him on day one, it was by day 30th that he got me angry.
He ran the most successful campaign against democrats, how the hell is he even allowed to align himself with them???

You’re thinking of Michelle Rodriguez! Rosario was in Men in Black II and Sin City.

Yes, I remember that. Dolores Huerta, who has spent her life fighting for the rights of workers. And Rosario Dawson, who is in the Fast and Furious movies. This right here is the Sanders voter.

Ugh and when he went after Dolores Huerta and Jon Lewis. And the blacks in ghettos comment. And during the debates he was so condescending and dismissive to Hillary it was painful to watch. What sucks is I agree with about 99% of what he says but somehow he is able to preach economic justice while alienating

All started when he called Planned Parenthood part of the “establishment.” He doesn’t give a fuck about women’s healthcare.

Braids protect afro-textured hair from environmental factors, the elements, and over-styling. Basically, when your hair is in braids, it’s not doing anything else but growing, and it’s easier to retain moisture and nutrients. This isn’t generally true of non-afro hair.

Didn’t you know it’s not credible until a white person says it? I once suggested that head wraps and braids are physiologically necessary to maintain the health of afro-textured hair and therefore not allowing them in the workplace is racial discrimination, and a white person commented “You’d need researchers and

Lolz. Every survey about race should just be conducted randomly at within various black neighborhoods, churches, businesses, barbers/salons, and other black folk gathering places. Errrbody would save time and money and white folk would get the answers they don’t want but which they really need.

You forgot to file this under “no shit Sherlock.”

He’s losing a large platform to spew his particular brand of hate. He’ll never have as much exposure again. He’ll still write books and collect speaking fees but for someone with his ego that won’t be enough. It does suck that he’ll  get a buy out from Fox. I’m hoping some of these women go after him in civil court

I believe it. I actually read a study years ago about black patients being under treated for pain because physicians often don’t take us seriously combined with the incorrect assumption that black patients are more likely to abuse pain meds. In reality, black patients are actually less likely to abuse pain meds.

That’s terrible. Black women fall at the intersection of gender discrimination and racial discrimination, opening them up to extra prejudice - doesn’t mean you didn’t experience your own though. I hope you’ll be able to find a doctor you can trust more.

I know. It’s absurd. A friend of mine is a (black female) doctor and she said she specifically wanted to become a doctor for black women to attend who would listen to them. I think if not for a conversation with her a while back I wouldn’t have realized this was SUCH a thing and so prevalent. I know I have experienced

Racial bias and discrimination in healthcare are absolutely real. If you are racist, that doesn’t stop when you enter the workforce. There is no magic shield that prevents people from experiencing the consequences of implicit bias and racism when they go to see a doctor. It isn’t that people are trained poorly. It’s

Thank you for this article. It’s a subject I find hard to talk about. Medical un-professionals have tried to hurt and have hurt me too.

What did you do/say after she said, black women don’t care about their bodies?

You’re missing the fact that there are different kinds of privilege and your example showcases at least two ways in which the black man is very privileged and one way in which he is not. While the white person is only privileged in one way.

In 1,000 words or less, describe how you understand the term ‘white privilege. To what extent do you think this privilege exists?

Only a white person would believe that money protects black people from racism.
