But, you see, sex sells, so everybody wants to include lots of graphic sexy goings-on in their entertainment product. However, if the actors on screen appear to be doing these sexy things for fun or pleasure or mutual gratification, that sort of thing is obviously indecent and not acceptable for broadcasting -

This.

People bring up this criticism of GoT and its ilk all the time. Maybe it’s just not your thing, but for me a large part of the appeal of fantasy and sci-fi is that the characters within it are still realistic people, even if the world around them is not.

Oh, it would be terrible if we pretended it didn’t exist at all. I just wish media of all types would be a bit more thoughtful, and also more creative. Hell, the first season of Jessica Jones was about rape and its aftermath, and it carried through with that arc without depicting the act.

YEAH.

Too much violence happens against women in the real world

yea the reason author couldn’t enjoy bachelorette party is because she’s the type of person to write an article like this.

Why do you make your own?

I used to work for a woman whose day was made when she made an employee cry. Her mood became boyant, so much so the only thing she could do to feel even better was to leave work and go shopping. I read that as Trump just trying to make a joke since that video made the rounds. This seems like one of those exceedingly rare moments when Trump is able to brush something off with humor rather than getting comically and disproportionately defensive about it.

“Has he not seen Steven Bannon”... hell has he not seen himself?

Bannon’s a lost cause. There’s superficial beauty, and then there’s ugly that comes from deep in the marrow, in the soul. Ain’t no fixin’ that.

Considering Trump was all about saying how he doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, won’t do drugs, etc. it’s strange that his closest adviser is clearly an alcoholic.
