Every time a Democrat (even you Liz Warren) does anything to comply with this administration they should be fucking voted out. It’s time for them to inherit the “Party Of No” and block every goddamn thing Trump and the GOP try to do. Especially starting with these dystopian nightmare cabinet positions.

One of the worst things that has happened in our democratic discourse is what I like to call the “stupidman” fallacy.

it’s weird to me that the right is constantly crying about how everyone always assumes they are racist and sexist, and then they embrace someone flagrantly racist and sexist as their poster boy and use his heinous speech for an example of how conservative thought is oppressed. like, republicans please just admit that

Yep, there are a few specialty private schools for special ed, we have one here. It is 40k per year k-12. But the other private schools will not accept any kid with special needs that requires them to modify curriculum or equipment. You might get speech services, or extra time on exams for adhd - but that’s it.

Let’s guess the charms.

Probably has one on that charm bracelet somewhere.

Yeah I’ve heard of a few schools through my work, but even the “small potatoes” private schools in my area don’t have sped services. Like the Montessori schools, the catholic schools, etc. I’m sure some do, but not many and certainly not in most areas. Mind you these schools will certainly accept anybody willing to

TBH most expensive private schools DON’T have special ed. They want nothing to do with it. It’s too much headache and money for basically no return. Which is why this is all so devastating. If the public schools slash it (and specialized services tend to be the first to go), you literally won’t even be able to buy

Betsy Devos fills me with the white hot rage of 1,000 suns. Also not being hyperbolic. To me she represents that we will never again have a proper democracy. I know that sounds pretty fucking dramatic but when we have completely given up on our children we have nothing to hope for.

Indeed, plus they’ll avoid any complex subjects that might cause uncomfortable ideas that can lead to disloyalty to the state. If you thought saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning was tantamount to indoctrination, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Yes, but we could just put a venison scratch and sniff sticker on the bottom of a pool and be done with her....

Yep. Good ‘ol Newt said a poor kindergartener ought to be able to clean toilets to pay for their lunches. So, I am guessing these “work training centers” will be teaching them to sew Nike shoes, or whatever company sponsors the “center”.

BUT! And here’s where it gets really twisted - the poor are required by law to provide education for their children. So what happens when they can’t pony up the required funds? Do I hear “debtor’s prisons”? Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

At first they will hand out vouchers like it’s trick or treat. Then they will slash the public school budget. Then they will slash the budget for vouchers. The rich will pay for theirs, but get most back in a tax credit. The middle class will pay, but get a modest tax credit. The poor, they won’t be able to pay, and

OR ARE PANDERING TO THEIR CONSTITUANCY BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS DANGEROUS LUNATIC WILL BE CONFIRMED ANYWAYS.

Their eyes are open, just too busy counting that sweet for profit education lobby money.

How are there no other repubs with their fucking eyes open.

UGH. No cheers for Maine’s Susan Collins, folks. She does this to us every goddamned time. She could have ended this travesty in committee with a no vote, but nope, she went ahead and passed DeVos through to a full house vote where she will more than likely pass.

Supposedly Pat Toomey is wavering. I’ve seen a lot of people organizing calling campaigns to his office, so I’ve got some hope.

Any person who would rubber stamp putting this malicious individual in charge of children’s welfare should be hanged for treason. I am not being hyperbolic.
