Henry doesn't want them. Even now he cant bother to come home from work. Poor Bobby is making burnt toast for him and Gene. When Henry gets remarried his new wife isn't going to want to raise Betty's kids. And Henry isn't the kind of man who will be alone for long. IMHO. Dick will be coming home and taking the kids

Betty is still Betty, an accessory in her own tableau.

Her people were Philadelphia Main Line, they have the servants hug their kids for them.

I concur 100%. Henry is already gone. Dick may never become a great husband, but he is going to become a serviceable father.

They aren't going to live with Uncle William. Uncle didn't want to take care of his dad he sure isn't going to want to take Betty's kids. As always Betty doesn't really understand the people she's surrounded by.

She becomes a screenwriter. She is Matthew Weiner.

I don't think so, its just dreams deferred. We all either were Sally or know a Sally. 60's parents died young. Henry is already out of the picture, poor Bobby is home trying to make toast. Sally's idea that at least they will be in the same house if they stay with Henry shows she still has more growing up to do.

Harry is the Leonard of Mann Erickson, ignored and unloved.

And where is Henry? Working late? Something tells me that Henry is not going to handle this well, and will be remarried within a few years. He isn't the kind of man who can be alone. Sally grew up and I think in doing so she caused her father to as well.
