As noted above, Vicki-as-Michael literally missed the spotlight when she stepped onto the stage at DemonCon.
I don’t think it’s deliberate, either. Mostly because Michael’s experience is relevant to almost everybody on the planet — as a recovering addict, his anxieties certainly speak strongly to my own sense of self.
I think the episode delivered its lesson beautifully. It’s shown us the characters’ growth. They are confronted with their past selves and their dissatisfaction, and even shame, with who they used to be.
