Haha yeah no semicolon necessary, just the way I chose to divide it. I was just reading the part between the dashes, "good, stupid weak ass God story," as a parenthetical inside of "its best, witness forward story telling bad." It was a lil confusing.

I read this "because that is when the show is at its best, witness forward story telling—good, stupid weak ass God story—bad" like ten times and I still can't parse it.

I really thought Ichabod was going to give the box half of his soul as well during that scene. But instead he just stands there gaping while the show eats its own heart.

Weird, I didn't think they even hinted she was dead.

Loved the moment when Kim Dickens's character is all "just trust the system." Yeah, she's white.

DON'T INTERRUPT ME

We see him drink daily? I also thought the study-drinking was just another way to say he's not taking the studying seriously more than that he's so needing to drink. He got pretty darn drunk at Rebecca's party, but so did most of the people there, and he didn't drink much at all at Beans's party.

Is he actually? I mean he got too drunk at her party, but at Beans's party he didn't, and other than that, I only remember him sharing tequila with Rebecca on Thanksgiving. Did I miss something?

I know they're not related. I didn't say they were. Obviously, reisen and rießen are not connected linguistically, but it seemed to me that there were similarities in the themes of the words they chose and the words that they looked similar to in the two languages. Kind of like how in English, hair and horse have a

Shelby Fero. Makes sense to want to know if you only like reading things immediately and as a set I suppose, but I guess the reason I didn't include who in the last comment is some people here get really weird about holding grudges against writers.

nah

You should youtube Flight of the Concords's Bret's angry dance! You will enjoy it.

Oh for sure he was shitty about very low levels of commitment during his relationship with Heather, and it certainly ties into that, although even moreso I think it connects with "I Could If I Wanted To" and being afraid to try and fail. BUT I don't think it's strictly analogous to when he was dating Heather, which

Not in disagreement about "the one"-ness, but I don't think he went to the other date because of any mention of "feelings," he went because he felt insecure about their relationship (exacerbated by in the past being left for others by her and of course by Hector) and wanted to appear less invested than he was.

Are the Scandal monologues very distinct from Grey's Anatomy monologues? Seems to me those are way older than Scandal.

Yep! Definitely. That's why it didn't bother me that the wraith hadn't shown up before—hinting at a downward spiral somewhere far in his future that this decision is the beginning of. Pretty positive that's a desiccated ghosty version of himself.

the clerk was at her party

I think the complaint about the flashbacks is that there are many, but each one adds very little, not that they should all happen at once. They could be compressed or have more depth, not necessarily all run together.

It's absolutely not all negative all the time. Sure, this episode got a C and I agreed that it kind of dragged, and there wasn't a lot of substance to a lot of the running time. I didn't get the impression from her at all that she hated the show—she definitely seems to me to enjoy it. Not that I think she must to

I read it as Rebecca avoiding cilantro to be like him. In any case, she got over it eventually—anyone remember the taco fest? She was all about that vegan cilantroful guac.
