John Boyega and Oscar Isaac have both kinda disavowed the movies and have said to varying degrees they’ll never be back. Boyega particularly was so hurt by his treatment he said he’s done.

Well let’s not go crazy. Phantom Menace has neat ideas and worldbuilding, but it’s a mess of a film kinda saved by a truly epic third act and a hell of a fight. It’s not offensively bad but it’s not good and really struggles with the fact that Lucas can’t edit himself and nobody is around to tell him no. Hell, most of…
I do think that was more to do with the fact that the production was a mess and they were trying to release something but weren’t wholly confident in the product they had churned out. Honestly the idea of a Solo movie sans Ford was a tricky proposition to begin with.
Yeah, I’ll go see things in a franchise I like, but I’m not above being critical of it either. Those two things are allowed to coexist you know.
counterpoint: Lucas made the prequels, The Holiday Special, and the remastered re-releases. I guess his tenure of 5 good pieces of media vs the remainder of what he oversaw means the Lucasfilm years were also a wash right?
what if old people were people
The only reason people are leaving disappointed is because they’ve ascribed this genius quality to Star Wars that was never there. The franchise has always been hokey and badly-to-OK written. The movies are fun, but it’s not Shakespeare and I’m not sure when or why we all started thinking that they were.
People are…
I don’t think Solo had problems by virtue of opening after TLJ. I think Solo had a lot of issues to begin with.
overstatement of the year maybe? Star Wars seems to be chugging along nicely and despite what you may say, still produces fantastic content.
It might be the most Wes Anderson Wes Anderson has been.
I dig the box.
It is and it isn’t because everyone in charge claims that it’s not but we know better. If this were to do better than the 07 Transformers series then those would get tossed away, but until we hit that point they still need to be considered canon.
I feel like they could turn John Cena’s character from Bumblebee into a Nick Fury type who connects both GI Joe and Transformers.
I mean, isn’t that what ratings boils down to as well? It’s all money.
Yes on both accounts. They’re both Jedi and they’re both survivors. Just because Dagan was stuck in a bacta tank doesn’t make him any less of a survivor. The other character did things in order to survive and that involved hiding who he was more than Cal did. I’m not sure why the distinction matters when they both…
You’re super right. He says “I killed Tifa. So who is she?”
He also says that there was once someone who could shapeshift into your greatest fear, and the people you love, and control them right before he says that.
Crisis Core shoulda been Return. FFVII Part 3 shoulda been Reunion
That’s the read I got too but it’s been a bit and I gotta replay the game.
I doubt they would have starkiller finally be introduced only for Ahsoka to kill him unceremoniously
The first game had a lot of Shenanigans about Sephiroth trying to change the canon storyline in ways big and small and the wraiths trying to protect the canon, for example by making sure that Barrett survived but also that AVALANCHE died trying to protect Sector 7. The canon changes at the end which leads to new…
